"Whistler's Environment"

Autumn in Whistler

*Autumn Colours*

One of the best times to visit Whistler is in late September or early October.  The village is less crowded and the trees become a blaze of color.

Conference Centre

*Conference Centre*

The Whistler Conference Centre is the venue for many conventions and community events throughout the year.  The centre can be found near the town centre.

Covered Bridge

*Covered Bridge*

A covered bridge is one of the many things you will encounter on a hiking or cycling tour around Whistler Village.

Glacial Streams

*Glacial streams*

Most visitors to Whistler love to relax by a cold, glacial fed stream.  The unique water colour is a created by glacial silt that results when massive glaciers grind away at the mountain surface.

Gondola Ride

*Gondola Ride*

For a little adventure, take the Gondola ride to the top of the mountain and enjoy some spectacular views. The Whistler Gondolas operate daily throughout the year.  At the top of the lift (6,000 ft), there are many lovely hiking trails and a chalet with restaurants.   Even during the summer months, there can be snow at the top of the mountain.

The Whistler Gondola runs from the town centre high into the mountains. The base station is located within walking distance of most hotels and condos.

*Joffre Lake*

Joffre Lakes Provincial Park is a gorgeous part of British Columbia that is blessed with lush west coast vegetation, glacier-capped mountains and brilliant blue glacial lakes. This relatively unknown park is situated north of Whistler.

*Lost Lake*
Lost Lake is a popular destination for both Whistler residents and visitors.  A walking trail circles the lake.

*Mountain Scenery*

Whistler's number one attraction is without doubt, its splendid mountain scenery.  The town of Whistler is surrounded by huge mountains which are snow-covered for much of the year.
