Accessibility to Alta Lake makes Fishing a favorite hobby among people living in the area. Tourist are also in awe of the wonderful sight of Alta Lake and the abundance of fish especially in the summer. Rainbow trout and Cutthroat trout are the primary game fish in Alta Lake. There is a year-round bait ban in place so anglers can only either fly fish or use artificial lures on their boat or from the shore.
Before going for a fishing trip, don't forget to bring your valid
British Columbia freshwater fishing license. Rememer to carry a catch
and release net since Alta Lake is a catch and release lake.
